Source Material of Alice in Wonderland

Alice in Wonderland borrows elements from Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland as well as its sequel: Through the Looking-Glass. Lewis Carroll has many pursuits, including mathematics and photography, but we remember him best for his literary works (the Alice books being his most famous).

I read both books in a Victorian literature class I took in college, but my memory was a little rusty (plus my recollection wasn’t the best since I sped-read them… considering all the books I had to read within tight deadlines). The Disney film takes a lot of the same scenes, though it isn’t a perfect adaptation (much to the dismay and frustration of literary critics of the time). One scene that isn’t in the book that was added to the Disney film is the scene with the flowers – one which I think teaches a great message and is a good addition.
